I joined the Peer Group at the Experience Bank Group as I was keen to be with like-minded people. To challenge myself, to learn, to question and evolve my own knowledge base both personally and professionally.

Taking the time to step out of my businesses and the sector I work in to be surrounded by a diverse group of people is rewarding at every level. It removes any element of ‘group think’ yet provides a safe environment to ask questions and learn.

Focusing on skills in the boardroom and learning from others is, essential. I am soaking up knowledge about expectations, deliberations, deliverables, protocols, governance and policies and also able to add given my own experience over the last 15 years of both board, trustee, NED positions and running my own businesses.

What is most illuminating is the way the facilitator Andrew Marsh, helps us learn by using topical, live issues. It makes the discussions pertinent, and you leave feeling you have helped and been helped. I truly valuable use of time out of the business and a great way to actively learn, meet others and engage in strategic discussions.
